Conceived as a luxurious Bhutanese farmhouse, the architecture and interior design called for unwavering attention to local culture, materials, craftsmanship and design. Windows and columns are carefully positioned to frame the Gangtey Valley with quiet drama. Guests are cocooned in a palette of warm reds and yellows with stone, wood and fireplaces all featuring prominently.  Design detailing reflects the culture, textures, patterns and shapes of Bhutan simply yet elegantly, creating a style that is uniquely Bhutanese but strikingly fresh and contemporary.  The guest rooms and public spaces house a stunning collection of hand-crafted fabrics, artefacts, ornaments and traditional motifs.  Landscaping is sensitive to the district and the lodge’s strong sense of place.

This project comprises twelve master suites, a lodge with lounge and dining spaces, staff quarters and operational amenities.
